Air Cleaner for Solex

Do you have suggestions for the air filter for solex carburators?  I am
replacing the SU's on my 1600 (soon to be stroker) with 40mm Solex's.  Is
there a K&N filter that is the right size?  I may decide to build my own
filter box and try to input the air from in front of the radiator as I have
been told that using cold air is good and get's better performance (more
hp).

Any experiences with this ou there?
