Nasty front end surprises

Today I thought I'd try to get one side of the front end done (new lower
ball joints and comp springs).

As soon as I got the right front tire off, I got my first surprise. Comp
sway bar has snapped off clean. Wow! Called a buddy who said he'd never
heard of such a thing and it must have been a fluke, a  manufacturing flaw.
After separating the ball joint, I found the upper a arm bolts very loose.
Another wow!

Can't wait till I get to the other side!
