For all:
Hey thanks for nice support for my spring ride letter.
After I sent it I thought there would be some
flamers for being anti safe, or politically incorrect
or something.....then I remembered that this was
such a cool list.
Any way....the Oil leak question:
I know my rear seal is bad, the oil blows
back and collects on the frame rails, and
when you stop, my roadster always leaves
a "calling card" of about a pie pan size
puddle. Not a lot, actually, takes a long long
time to go thru a quart. But, can this be fixed
someday in the future when I pull the
engine and tranny for the tranny rebuild.
Can the seal be fixed without major surgury??
The water question:
How much water is supposed to be in the
overflow tank? I have been checking the
tall aluminum tower on the engine, and
it is never full, so I add a little....seems to
migrate to the overflow....so when I stop
the thing overflows and leaves a little
green puddle. So, with a 1600
(stroker) is it OK for there to be
no or just a little water at the bottom
of the aluminum tower?? How
much is supposed to be hanging out
in the brass overflow tank?
I'm pretty sure Im just overfilling
here, just want some feedback
from those who know.
TIA!!
Jim
