Check out the pricing structure for eBay sometime. (for non-car listings 
anyway) The "insertion fee" goes up for higher $$ items. add the "reserve 
fee" and there is actually a cheaper "break-even" point depending on what you 
need to get out of your item. 

Check it out & do the math.
