Excuse me, but I want to get into some roadster philosophy here for a
second. I read Calspeed's post and he says;

> As for my so called "Matching numbers" car. Big freakin deal. I
> really dont
> put too much stake in the fact that the motor is the original

Now, this is coming from a man who has a show winning car and what in
the roadster world is highly desirable, a 67.5 solex 2L....I want one.

Yet, I have a primer grey 66/68 1600 frankenstein, with a salvage title
to boot. Boy, do I love that car.
I even love my matching #s 1970 1600 (which by many is the least
desirable of the bunch)

I think the "only" time matching #s is really a big deal is when we
want to sell or impress. the roadster bunch is the least likely to be
in the "want to impress" crowd.

I think, and this is only my opinion, that when we have a roadster,
when it is running well, and we hit that favorite patch of asphalt, no
one is thinking about how desirable or not their car is.

For that moment in time that car is the best damn roadster in the
world!
I'd like to hear what others think.
