Gordon: There are a number of "early" race cars out there with dual brake
systems. Most are, in fact, later cars with an earlier VIN plate, rather
than early cars that have actually been modified.
Most vintage sanctioning bodies require redundancy in braking but will
accept a properly working emergency brake as the second. (virtually all
vintage production cars, and most historic ones prior to the mid '60's have
single systems.)
I still have the single system on my '66, but plan to change to a Tilton . .
