Dearest List,

This weekend, I was under my 67.5 1600 4 speed, unbolting my seats to
take them to get re-upolstered, and decided to see if I could find out why
my speedometer quit working (again).

I think I have a problem with the 45 degree adapter, but I'm not sure if I
can describe what I think is wrong:

On the tranny side of the adapter, there's a brass ring that holds the gear
in place. No matter how much I tighten the coupler to the tranny, this
brass piece falls loose. Is there supposed to be a pin or something that
keeps this brass piece in place? It looks like there's a hole on the
adapter
that lines up with a hole on the brass piece, my guess is that something
popped out???

Took the Roadster for a nice cruise yesterday before pulling the seats, real
nice, around 50 degrees or so, today it's blowing about 50 mph.

Later...Robert - 67.5 1600 - Albuquerque
