Last night I was installing a four speed into my racecar to replace the broken
five speed that was in it. I thought I had the right tranny mount, but what I
have didn't work at all. The piece I have is shaped like the correct part, but
it has bolt holes on the sides to fasten it to the X-Brace instead of the
bottom of the X-Brace. It doesn't have the part that goes across the bottom at
all. It is only the piece that fits up inside the X-Brace. My 68-1600 doesn't
have bolt holes in this area. Is this a super rare part from a 67.5 solex
2000? Can I sell it on EBAY for a million dollars? Luckily I have a back yard
full of rusty parts cars and sourced the correct tranny mount. It always seems
that the job should take a half an hour and ends up taking two.
There will be an SCCA autocross this Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway. I hope to
