machanical oil gauge

hi all,

I am thinking of installing an aftermarket mechanical oil gauge in my 67 1600.
it has vinyl tubing for the line to the gauge. thoughts? I want something
reliable. I do not know how much of a safety issue is associated with a
mechanical gauge.
