If I remember correctly the first 100 numbers or so were skipped and
were then put on later cars ('65 I think).
I've been trying to find my copy of Phil Brook's Fairlady book -
http://www.users.bigpond.com/fairlady/ which I think has the full
story.
I know the '64's were numbered 4-SPL310-xxxxx - the 4 for the year, not
sure if the '63's were similar - 3-SPL310-xxxxx.
There were some other running changes that might give you some more
info.
