1600 timing mark

I just put a Gary Boone EI dizzy on and wanted to make sure my timing was 
good. Page 43 (fig 1) of the datsun manual shows a pointer on the timing 
cover....my car does not have one. The timing cover does have a raised line 
(fin) casted into the cover. Is that the timing pointer? Thanks in advance.
