A needle database that lists what needle each car is using and what
modifications they have would be helpful in providing a frame of reference
for tuning.
I started measuring the needles I had from the PO and w/o markings, had a
difficult time finding what needles I did have. They were similar to M, but
not quite.
It ran well with the stock aircleaner andfelt punchy at all rpms. But when
i when to K&N's with stub stack, I was getting no throttle response at 4k+.
and some occasional backfiring.
I started swapping needles from a set I picked up. I went to AH2 which
still didn't feel right.
Then I tried CR which felt good up to 5500. I left these in for a few
weeks, but then the hesitation was coming back when I lightly incresed the
throttle. Pull the choke and the power comes back. So I swapped it out with
the next one I had ( I think it's 6) and It's running fine. I need to get
an oxygen sensor installed to be sure. Since it started to lean out without
modifying anything, I'm going to have to check the floats.
