Need a Volvo Brake Guru to answer a question

Couldn't get a loaded set of calipers locally, so I bought unloaded, but it 
doesn't have the rods that hold up the brake pads. Is that just a rod with a 
cotter pin in the end, or what? I can't tell from what I see in the pictures.
