I looked into coatings.  I found this stuff

You have bring your header to bare metal, rust free.  If you have a 
sandblasting connection, then this might be worthwhile.  The place I called 
about sandblasting said they had a minimum charge of $80.  Buy the time I 
pay that and for the coating itself, it might be cheaper to buy a coated 
header from one of the vendors.
