Tom,

Welcome back. Your search for a roadster depends on a number of factors:
time (do you need to buy a roadster "RIGHT NOW!!!!" or can you afford to
wait for that "perfect deal?"), money, and year (do you want another 310, a
low-windshield 311, a high-windshield 311, or....???)

The usual places are:

craigslist <http://www.craigslist.org> then search by city
eBay
311s.org <http://www.311s.org>
Collector Car Trader Online <http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/>
this list

IIRC, someone on this list recently had a non-running '69 available in the
Portland area.

Car availability fluctuates throughout the year, though prices are generally
higher when the sun is shining that when someone wants to clear that project
out of the garage before winter sets in.

Parts are available from Nissan and our vendors, although some of 'em (like
the ball joints and wiper pivots) can be quite expensive. Remember, we are
talking 35+ year-old cars.

Condition of the vehicle varies from "yours free, just haul this pile of
rust away" to $20k+ for an immaculate restoration. As many will tell you and
I have experienced, buy as much car as you can afford to. I turned down a
'66 for $4k that was 90-percent restored because I didn't like the color.
STUPID!!! Instead, I bought a '66 for $3k ($2500 + $500 shipping) that I
have another $600 into it plus figure up to $1000 to make it a reliable,
daily driver. To make it new and pretty will be another $2k-$5k. I do not
regret what I bought, just the fact that I did not shop better.

You can find more buying advice on the Rallye, 311s.org, and datsun.org
websites.

Cheers.

So of course, now I've simply got to have another Fairlady. Where's the best
place to find one on the 'net? I tried several searches (that's how I found
this group), but couldn't find very many for sale. I'd be interested in a
car in just about any mechanical shape, as long as the body is pretty sound.
I can do the mechanical fixing-up (are parts still available?) , but I don't
like to mess with body work!

Any advice/support/comments will be greatly appreciated!
