oil pressure gauge line leak

Any remedies for replacing the little plastic "gasket"on the end of the line
where it goes into back of gauge.Is it needed?Took my 68 1600 out for a test
run and ended up getting my pants leg soaked with oil.Took line off and the
plastic was in unusable pieces.TIA.
