| Subject: | Shifter boot rotting prevention |

A while back, someone on this board recommended a way to prevent shifter boots from rotting away due to transmission gear oil splashing on the underside of them. It was something like slide a piece of plastic over the shift lever down to its base where it enters the transmission. Then install the new boot above it. Am I up in the night? Any advice on how to protect my umpteenth new boot would be appreciated. Regards, Michael Knorr 1966 SPL311 |
