Larry,
You mention a lot about replacing the wiring harness, but nothing about the
grounds. There should be:
1. starter housing to the frame.
2. engine to frame.
3. alternator to ground.
There are more, but these three critical to the starting/ignition circuit.
So, the big question is, do these grounds exist on your car?
