Custom steering wheel size suggestion

Greetings,
I want to change my stock steering wheel to a smaller size. This board has  
already given me 
information on brands of wheels, adaptors, and where to get them. 
 
Can any of you with a custom steering wheel tell me what size  wheel worked 
good for you e.g. a 12 in vs a 13 1/2 in etc and what  thickness.
