Greg,

They are difficult to remove. They are crimped on and it takes much patience
to remove them in one piece. I happened to have a lot of jewelry making
tools to do it, but a good speedo shop should be able to do it also. One
thing I would consider is making the rings reinstallable. You can only take
them of once and put them on again one time. After that they will crumble.
If you have the shop notch the ring and the gauge housing so you can turn
them a few degrees to lock them, you can open the gauges any time you need
to. Once they are cleaned up and working properly, you should not have to,
but you never know.
