Hey, Paul, be careful on moving those lines around. I had the same issue on
my Appliance WireMags. The balance weights were the stick-on kind on the
inside of the rim. The tab on the backing plate (where the flex line comes
into the block) broke and that allowed the hard line to the caliper to move
just enough that the weights caught it and snapped the line off. Dumped all
my brake fluid out through the wheel and gave me a very exciting moment when
the freeway traffic suddenly came to a halt from 80 mph just south of
Portland! Thank God for a working handbrake and an empty shoulder. That was
on the return trip from our first visit to Mt. Shasta.

I am still very grateful to Ross Mullen, who was behind us with a cell phone
(in 1984!), and to Dan Garrison of Portland who had the brake line and came
out to help me fix it. Thanks again, guys.
