Hello All,

Would like to ask what experience people might have had with the different
carburetor options for an R16 stroker motor. The engine has been
completely rebuilt and is running a slightly modified street cam (280 lift,
457 duration). The carbs are currently the stock 1600 and I'd like to see
if anyone has any input on running the 2000 carbs? I would like to stay
with the SU carbs for more low end power and my Dad will be driving this
car so I don't think he'd have his foot in it as much as Mikunis like.

Also looking at the stock air filter and it seems a little
restrictive. I'm thinking about going with an ITG which would let it
breathe a little better. I've seen where some have used the K&N element in
the stock housing for the 1600 but the funky air horns/backplate seem to
also restrict the motor as well. Using an ITG would allow the use of some
nice TWM air horns.

Last note is exhaust size / muffler type. The car currently has 1-3/4"
size with turbo muffler. Is there any benefit to going to a 2" exhaust
with an R16 motor? Flowmaster makes a 60 Series muffler that is supposed
to be reasonably quiet and will fit.

Just some general ideas to get as much performance as reasonably
possible. Any input of suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bryan
