Okay, this was not my intention. As I remounted the mechanical pump, I could
feel that it wasn't right. Did I take it back out and try again? No, of
course not! Even as I continued to think it wasn't sliding on like it should,
I continued to tighten down the nuts. Eventually, it broke as mechanical
advantage over rode the strength of materials. Grrrr...
I had an electric pump sitting around (anyone who drives British cars always
has a spare electric pump sitting around) and it's now plumbed into place.
I've fabricated a blocking plate for the mechanical pump location. The
question is, from a guy without a wiring diagram, where's a good place to wire
in the positive connection?
