To the best of my knowledge, transmission numbers cannot be traced to any
particular roadster, as engine numbers can.  But, if the car were mine, I'd
put the original trans in it for its positive effect on overall vehicle value.

If you have an original tranny with
matching numbers, this discussion shouldn't even be taking place. 
It's
OBVIOUS which one would be more valuable.  Matching numbers are ALWAYS mover
valuable, especially to a true collector...
