When we were on one of our trips to the UK we decided to do the turist
double deck bus tour through London...

Near Hyde Park (Paul  -correct me if I'm a bit off) there was a famous tree
(apparently just suited for hanging).  I think it was called the hanging -
tree.  In any event a convicted person would be taken to the gallows from
prison on a simple cart pulled by some horses.  On the way to the gallows
the poor soul was allowed a "stiff-one" from the local corner pub that was
on the route.

Hence, last drink...."on the wagon".
