Thank you all for your responses and generous offers in reply to my call
for a crank.

Luckily, FOTer, Mike Jackson had a very reasonable uncut stock crank in his
stash of parts.  Best part is, Mike is only 20 miles from Glen Efinger's
shop and makes the trip fairly often; so will deliver it for however many
Mountain Dews he drinks during the trip.
