More trailer questions

Since we are on the trailer subject.  Thinking about building or buying an 
open trailer to haul the TR-6 around on next year.  I was wanting to go the  
tandem axle route because in my mind it would seem safer.  After reading the 
tow vehicle survey it appears that a lot of people are towing using single 
axle trailers.  Any opinions on this?
