Another periodic update:
To date I have heard from Bill Babbcock, Scott Barr, Don Brick, Ron Cressey,
Tony Drews, Glen Efinger, Henry Frye, John Fridirici, Jim Gambony, Rich
Hardison, John Hornbostle, T. R. Householder, Mike Jackson, Bob Lang, Don
Marshall, Doug Ross, Jeff Snook, Dean Tetterton, Gerry Van Vlack, and Randall
Young, with pledges of financial support to help pay for the FOT ad in Burt
Levy's new book, THE FABULOUS TRASHWAGON (with any overflow going to help pay
for incidental out-of-pocket expenses relating to MID-OHIO next month).
At this point I have received pledges totaling $960 (of which $615 is
collected). I have already sent a check for $750 to Burt Levy, and as soon
as the balance is collected I will send a check (the overflow) to Joe
Alexander, for his use at MID-OHIO.
The largest contribution we received was $200 and the smallest $5. ALL
contributions are appreciated. If any others care to participate, I urge
them to do so this week. While the cost of the ad is now well covered, we
still could use additional funds for MID-OHIO. Joe is working on a 'TRIUMPH
RACER PARTY' for MID-OHIO, who's cost will be in the $6,000 range. While Joe
is lining up sponsors, that whole number is not covered yet. If we could get
a couple of more bucks (especially from people who plan to be at MID-OHIO,
and who have not yet participated), we will be able to do this without
'cutting corners, passing the hat at MID-OHIO, or charging a fee. Give it
some thought.

TRIUMPH has always had the reputation of being the Marque of the Great
Unwashed. TRIUMPH racers, in particular, have always had four places for
every available dime. For this reason, I want to say how impressed I am with
the generosity of the FOT members who have chosen to participate. Thanks to
all. You sure make my job easy.
