Speaking of skating, I get mildy annoyed when the announcers pronounce
'lutz' as rhyming with nuts, since my mother's side of the family was
named Lutz, but they pronounced it sounding like 'loots' - big deal, I
know. I'm also amazed by the folks who think that the abbreviation for,
say, 1961 is 61' instead of '61. To me 61' means 61 feet, or 61 minutes.
Ah, the perils of paying too much attention in high school literature
classes. Then again, a 61' Herald may refer to the quarter mile time rather
than the year of manufacturer!

Nitpicking frivolity aside, I was down puttering about at the shop this
afternoon, and I may actually be close to starting to get ready to begin
thinking about possible future work on the red Spit, which lost its rear
brakes at the IVR enduro in May. I was planning on installing the slightly
larger GT6 rear drums, and this could be a good time to upgrade the axles.
What is the cost and estimated delivery time of Ed B.'s axle setup? The
2003 race season is only about a dozen weeks away!
