HP question GT6+

FOTers,

The clutch operating lever assembly on Ellie's GT6+ failed today, cracking 
apart so that the
fulcrum pin went through it.  I cleaned the two old units that I have, and 
found cracks in the
same location.  I had tried to order a new one months ago.

Has anyone welded one of these with a stick welder?

The street TR3 is trapped in by the Ford that also gave out this weekend, so 
this is
not a casual question.  Ah Labor Day!
