I redid most of the glass on the Lotus 7 I had by grinding/roughing the back
side and laying in a couple more sheets of fiberglass matt, then ground the
gel coat off the outer surface (35 year old Lotus gel coat is not worth
saving :-) and spreading a thin layer of bondo or your favorite type of
filler.  Think you can even redo the gel coat, but slapping on some filler
was pretty easy.  Just plan on creating lots of dust, so don't do it in the
dining room...
