Joe: Yes, the taper and diameter are the same between a TR3 and a Spitfire. 
This I know because I just did a rack and pinion conversion on a TR3 a couple 
of months ago, and used the Spitfire rack and tie rod ends. The problem is if 
you plan on putting these onto the TR3 steering links. You'll have to make 
adapters to screw them into the existing threads. Thanks - Ed
