When companies make big decisions everything counts--right up until the
economic decision maker awards the contract to his completely unqualified
fraternity buddy. But complaints and dissatisfaction make it easy to pull
the deal. Locally, there is not a peep about the run offs leaving mid-ohio.
People hate change, you'd expect someone would complain, but all I've heard
is "good, now I don't have to deal with their asshole security guys
anymore."

Amazing.

I know Ray Irwin, the new (relatively) owner of the Topeka track, fairly
well. Super nice guy. I worked with him on the early BLACKHAWK VINTAGE
CLASSIC (he also owns BLACKHAWK FARMS) events before VSCDA took the event
over. While most road circuit track owners are 'racers', Ray is a dyed in
the wool 'blue collar' racer. Lots and lots 'Midwestern Council' (read open
shop SCCA) seat time. This guy still works corners a couple of times a
year. I figure that's got to impact his style, and has to be good for
people like us.
