I have a Hobart 135 is pretty good for up to 1/8 have not tried it on  
heavier.
Got mine for less than 400 it was a closeout or scratch dent, seems  
to be as good as the millers we have at work.
Not sure but I have seen some cheap tig welders for sale on ebay good  
for most stuff except for aluminum.
