Been there, done that.

Both without restrictor, and with restrictor (3 different sizes)

Generally accepted nowadays as a waste of time and money.

Too much oil in the rocker box/valve cover is one result, oil smoke out of=20
the exhaust is another, and a drop in oil pressure, even on a known good low=
=20
mileage engine is a third.

The rocker arms were bushed with oilite phosphor-bronze bushings, at great=20
cost, but they wore out, as did the NOS original Leyland rocker shaft in un=
der=20
20k miles, even with the oil feed hose - I put it down to poor heat treatmen=
t=20
of the shaft.

I replaced the rocker arms with Harland-Sharpe Roller Rockers (of mild lift)=
=20
- this is a road car, and the shaft with a Ted Schumacher supplied tuftrided=
=20
rocker shaft.

After another 20k miles even the tuftrided shaft is just starting to wear,=20
although the roller rockers are fine, and that's without the oil hose!=20

My engine has always sent plenty of oil up to the rocker shaft, even without=
=20
the oil feed hose.=20

The oil feed hose is where it belongs - in the trash.

I have read of similar experiences from many Triumph 6 cylinder owners over=20=
a=20
long period of time. =20

L=E9on=20

YMMV.
