I picked up my block last night and set about fitting my new liners. I
generally

measure the liner height at six points. 1 , 3, 5, 7, 9 & 11 o'clock.

I use the 12 and 6 position to cinch the liner to the block with aluminum bar

that bridges from stud to stud. I use a spacer that makes contact with the
liners

at 12 & 6.B

On # 3 liner I am getting a tight .003 on one side of the block and .005 on
the other.

I'm shooting for .003 - .004 since I'm using the shim steel gasket. I tried
loosening

the liner and re-seat it and it still reads the same after I snug it down
again.

Tonight I will try to move liners around and see if I get better results

but I was wondering if ;

A.B B B B B Is aB snug .003 fit enough projection?

B.B B B IsB a difference of .002 from side to side too much?

Still trying to make Topeka & thanks for any input,

Jim G
