the early TR6 and TR250 crankshaft have a longer end on them making the 
flywheel shorter and if I 
remember correctly, dished as well. I also believe the early flywheels may have 
been heavier. The 
clutches and transmissions are completely interchangeable, but the flywheels 
are not, a long end 
crankshaft must be used with the proper flywheel.
