If the gearbox is not making any serious noises or jumping out
of gear, you can get by with:

gasket set
front seal
syncro rings
third motion shaft bearing
throwout bearing
clutch plate
rear mounts
rubber bushings for the rod which keeps the engine and gearbox
from sliding forward (See previous discusions about fans and radiators)

Norman Nock (British Car Specialists) has the hardened syncro rings.

If no gears are required, what parts shall I expect to ALWAYS replace
when rebuilding a sideshift tranny. I expect:

bearings
needle bearings ?
thrust washers?
gasket kit
syncros (who has the hardened good ones?)
throwout bearing
clutch plate
pilot bushing
crankcase seal (
OD works but may be sent out (but to who in CA?)

Thanks in advance,

Tracy
