Hi all,

I was pondering the piece of metal bolted down over the distributor
clamp since I bought the car last summer. Today I pulled the distributor
to do a little service check and tune up, so I removed the part. It
looks like a shroud or shield of some sort that may be an after market
or rare factory option worth zillions. It comes out from under the cap
on both the fore and aft and would have been a square bend at the
bottom. The front is rectangular with two slots at the top and it's
about 4"" wide and as tall as the top of the cap. The back is a little
lower, with a wing nut and screw and a cutout was fit around the vaccum
pipe. Could be a waterproofing or weather shield? It's cut too nice
around the slots and center hole to be home made.

I will email a picture to anyone that wants to try to identify it for me.

Thanks
Dave
