door handle quality

I am wondering if there is a consensus about the quality of new door
handles, door strikers, trunk hinges from the usual suppliers.  My original
ones will need to be rechromed to be used on my new restoration but the cost
of rechroming these small parts in Southern California is higher than the
cost of buying new ones.  Any opinions?
