One of the things I had to deal with when I bought my Healey originally, back
in the Mesozoic period, was coping with splines and hubs that seemed to be
practically "welded" together through the use of some kind of heavy grease
that had long since dried out and caked. Getting the wheels off was an
absolute BEAR. --Once I got the caked material out, of course I found that it
was hard to keep the wheels tight, and that the splines and hubs were severely
worn... --Wound up stripping a couple and replacing them with used wheels as
I went along... (that was exciting!) Curious if others have ever run into
having the wheels glued on like this... Can't complain to the PO, that was a
good 20 years ago!

Anyway, now, with all new wheels (Dunlop 60 spoke painted) and all new
splines... Other than keeping them tight, is there anything else to be done
to keep the splines and hubs from wearing again? Also, what if any lubricant
do you use on the splines? -I am assuming no lube of any kind on the spinner
thread... I have a little white lithium on them now.
