The starter I just bought was purchased through British Parts North West,
Oregon. It is priced $195 plus shipping of $14.50. I would have preferred
to buy it closer to me but a google search did not turn up Atlanta Import
Auto Parts. It will take about a week to reach me in Fl. I spoke with
Leighton at British Parts NW and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. www

This will be my first transaction with them.

I still can't get over how helpful this list is. Here are the replies that
I got that you may have not seen. I hope I didn't leave anyone out.

I have a gear reduction starter from Moss and it works great. It is
basically a Honda or Toyota starter. It sounds like a Japanese starter, but
it is really quick and responsive. No hesitation. I can not remember how
much it cost. I ordered it from Atlanta Imported Auto Parts, a Moss
distributor, as they are cheaper than moss and shipping is free with a
decent order. Installing it was a snap as it has a milled aluminum plate
with several mounting holes predrilled. You just turn it so the solenoid is
on top and bolt it to the engine.
I have the original starter rebuilt as a back up, but how often do Japanese
cars not start?!!!

If you drive your car a lot, it is a great improvement.

Mel I just last week installed one on my BN4 and I installed one on my TR3A
a couple months ago. They turn the engine over so fast that I don't need to
choke my Healey. I got mine from British Parts North West for $195.00 plus
$8.00 shipping. They told me that the starter is made by Toyota. I have seen
the same one for around $260.00 to $300.00. I will send you their Webb site.

Bought mine from Brit Parts Northwest in Dayton, Oregon. Works very
well and they cut me a little slack off the price of some other major
suppliers because I do a bit of AH repair here in the central Arkansas
area. I paid just under $200 but that was a few years ago.... The guys
there, Greg and Leighton, were very good to work with. Try them at

Lotsa Luck,
Jack

I was having the same problem with my stock starter. I purchased mine
through Moss (around $179) It fits very tight. In fact I was ready to send
it back because it didn't think it was fitting properly. Once all of the
bolts were tight, it was a perfect fit. It has worked awesome ever since.
