Hi Ron,
Moss will sometimes supply generic supplies like that, which may not be of
satisfactory spec. For the others who may come after you, I would bring this
to the attention of Moss, so that it can be corrected... We've all done it
before, with some success.
To assure the correct seals for the windshield, you may want to call either
British Car Specialists, or Healey Surgeons and speak to them. -They can
inspect the part prior to shipping it out to you, and confirm it is correct
over the phone.
As for re-framing the windshield, --Unless you are experienced in doing so,
I'd take it to a professional to have it reassembled.
I did what you are doing, I assembled the frame with the utmost care, and the
first really hot day in the garage, - the windshield split. Even though the
glass shop offered no guarantees, (since the parts were not theirs) I had them
assemble it with the new glass..... and that was 7? years ago, without a
problem since.

  Subject: Windshield rubber

When I disassembled my windshild to re-chrome the frame I found a very thin
gasket around the edge with some thicker spacors between the ends and the
frame to keep it centered. When I ordered a new rubber gasket from Moss I got
one that was signifficently thicker. The original one was almost like a thin
foam strip less than 1/64 inch thick. (No, it was not just compressed to that
size. I still have it and it is very thin material which is why I guess there
were extra thick pieces used to cushion the edges inside the frame.) With
the new one folded over the glass there is no way it will fit into the frame.
Are there different sizes or thicknesses for these rubber bands that cushion
the glass in the frame and if so, where might I get a proper size one for my
61BN7.
As always, thanks for any help.
