John,
I have worked extensively with Heritage's kits including a BN7. I'll attach
pictures that might help clarify things.
The rear floor carpet that basically covers the floor under the seats is not
glued in place. It is pushed up and fitted tightly into the inverted slot up
on the vertical heel board, and is held in position by the ring style carpet
snaps that are imbedded into the carpet. The 2 carpet snaps holding the
carpet in place are positioned about 3 1/2" forward of the vertical heel
board as seen in the pictures. The male lift-a-dot studs that secure the
battery compartment lid to the heel board will also go through the otherwise
loose heel board carpets. Also note that the carpet is slotted to fit snugly
either side of the seat tracks, and is not trapped beneath the runners in
any way.
Therefore to remove these rear carpet pieces for any reason, the 2 carpet
snaps are unfastened and the lift-a-dot studs must be removed. Then the
carpet can be slipped out.
Any other detail questions about the fitting of the Heritage BN7 trim, let
me know. I'd be happy to help, (and I've taken lots of pics.)
Hope this helps.
Rich Chrysler
