Gary, welcome to the list and world of Healey ownership, I too came from
having a TR (4A) with a Sprite or two on the side. You will find that much
of your knowledge/skills aquired with the TR (SU Carbs and fuel pumps, Lucas
electrics) translate striaght over to the Big Healey world.
As far as improvements on the car there was Ten Improvments discussion on
the list a month or so ago, again many of the things discussed are also done
in the Triumph world. Re-cored radiator, alternator, modern fuel pump,
grose jets, 5 speed trannies, etc. You can search the archives and with
some luck this topic should come up.
One thing somewhat unique to Healeys is the cockpit heat, many use the
silver sided insulation stuff between carpet and the floor/tunnel/firewall
to help here, haven't done it yet myself, but plan to, and defintiely would
if I was taking the car all apart.
