Hi, Merrick -

I installed a new Moss SU negative-ground pump in December, 2001 and about
30,000 miles ago. At the same time, I installed a backup fuel pump in
series, with a switch hidden under the dash to select either one (or
neither). Recently, my car failed to start first thing in the morning while
about 250 miles from home. A flick of the switch to the other pump, and I
was going again. The SU pump came back to life later. This has happened
twice now, and it was quite a comfort to have a backup pump.

I don't know what the life expectancy of the current Moss pumps is, but if
you just want something different you can use an Autozone E8016S (my
backup), or a Facet pump that has been discussed on the list recently. If
you're interested in the backup arrangement, please let me know.

Happy Healeying!

Seems like I am always having problems with my fuel pumps on my BJ8. Have
already replace pumps twice and now that pump has failed. Have been using
the
SU pump from Moss. Any suggestions on fuel pumps that are more reliable and
where I can get them. The car has been converted to negative ground if that
matters.

Thanks,
Merrick
