That is just the opposite of how my tach acts after installing a 
Pertronix. At low rpms I get no readings. After about 1500 rpm the tach 
begins working. Once I drive a couple of miles the tach again operates 
normally. I just live with it but wonder if looping the wire thru the 
pickup at the rear of the tach with two loops instead of one would help?

Maybe someone on the list can help the both of us with the solution to 
our problems?
