An important distinction between the two is that whereas an attorney
represents his client's interests exclusively, an insurance company (and the
consel it
provides) represents its insured's interest only so long as they are not in
conflict with its own, and at that point they may continue to provide
representation, etc. with a reservation of rights, etc. It is always wise to
be have
someone supporting your interests--and ONLY your interests--handle
communications with insurance companies, including your own.
