Greg: I cheated a bit. I do not like steering wheel covers that have the
lacing wrapped around them, plus, like you, I could not find any
(inexpensive) covers that fit on our large steering wheels. So, I bought
two inexpensive (that's c-h-e-a-p, pronounced 'frugal') fauz wood grain
steering wheel covers. I cut one at the bottom and sectioned a piece out
of the other, approximately 13 inches in my case. I glued the two together
then took them to my local shoe repair shop and had him zig-zag stitch the
joints. I then covered the stitching with pieces of the wood grain
material from the left over cover, stitching them on by hand. Not a beauty
prize winner but not ugly, either. Since all the 'joining' is near the
bottom, it is not that obvious at first glance. Provides some protection
for the rim and also a larger diameter rim to grip.

Picture attached for Greg.
