I've tried to move the crank pulley. It doesn't budge in either direction.
I have adjusted the valves again.

Is it safe to run the engine like it is?

Hi Ned,

It may be a loose front pulley.

Grab the fan and see if it rotates a few degrees taking the front pulley
with it. (You may need to press down on the fan belt to prevent it slipping
on the fan pulley.)

If it is you have a fun job for next weekend. :-)
